I am not sure if I have ever posted about our Golden Retreiver Cali. She is almost 3 years old and has a knack of escaping out of our back yard to swim in the neighbors pools or the Las Palmas fountains.
I received a frantic call from a woman who said that Cali was bleeding from her side and had been hit by a car. She had called the dog pound (who I should know on a first name basis by now) and the police. I told her it would take me 10 minutes to get there but that I was on my way.
By the time I got to Sports Village Cali had been picked up by Joe and was at the house. So I drove down to the house to discover this: I immediately took her to the vet to be checked out. They examined her and gave us an estimate of $381.00. When I called Matt to give him the estimate he went beserk. I was a little mortified because he was yelling so loud that the vet tech and my boss (who was joining me for moral support) could hear him.
Cali stayed the night at the vet and Joe picked her up the next morning.
I got a text from Joe with this picture:
When I got home I couldn't believe how huge her incision was:

Poor dog. It looks like someone just cut a puzzle piece out of her.
Your life has been most eventful. The dog--can't believe the size of his cut and your mom. Did they find out why this happened? Very odd. I'm glad she is okay and still with you.
poor girl! that is so scary. i am glad that nothing worse happened to her
Oh my, that's sad. I'm not a dog lover, but I hate seeing anything hurt. I'm glad you got her taken care of.
